It’s always a fun time of year when we get to list more great folks who will be part of our staff this summer.  Last month we had a huge list of returning staff and some new folks.  This month, there’s more where that came from.  Welcome back to the following “old-timers” who will be back on the staff again this summer:

AARON GLAZER

Aaron is 20 years old and is completing his junior year at the University of Southern California.  He is a Broadcast and Digital Journalism major, and has covered USC sports for his entire college career.  Most recently, Aaron worked with NBC Sports in New York on their coverage of the 2018 Winter Olympics, and is remaining in New York working with Major League Baseball until summer.  This will be Aaron’s 12th summer at camp.  He will be PA Director (oldest campers), a cabin counselor, and will help out with Digital Photography, Fishing, Baseball, and Waterskiing.

JUSTIN KEMP

This will be Justin’s 2nd summer at camp.  He is 24 years old and comes from Gorham, ME where he works as a Certified Nursing Assistant and is in the Nursing program at the University of Maine.  Justin has moved all the way up to the Canadian border this school year, but alas, has not seen a moose yet.  He will again be a Trip Leader at camp.  Something we didn’t know about Justin: “I am a black belt in Taekwondo.”

DIEGO RODRIGUEZ

Diego will turn 20 years old this summer, and he is from Puebla, Mexico.  This will be his 4th summer at camp, though his last summer was in 2014 when he was a PA.  He is a freshman and Law major at Instituto Technologico Autonomo de Mexico in Mexico City.  Diego still carries many of the passions he developed in his summer at camp.  He will be a cabin counselor helping out with Sailing, Rock Climbing, Soccer, and Riflery.  Something we didn’t know about Diego: “I am a Star Wars fan, but i didn’t like the last movie. I am also a FIFA World Cup fan and my guess is that Germany will win the cup.”

ED RODRIGUEZ

Ed is back for his second summer at camp.  He is 24 years old and is studying Physical Therapy and working as a Bilingual Interpreter.  Among his many skills, Ed has a background in Gymnastics, including coaching younger kids.  As we learned last summer, Ed is also a very hard worker and he loves helping in the kitchen.  This summer he will again be a member of our Kitchen Staff.  Something we didn’t know about Ed: “Since last year I have gained a lot of weight.  Thank you Bill :)”

BEN SCHACHTER

Summer number 11 coming up for Ben, who is originally from Dallas, TX. , and is currently a freshman at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.  Ben has played tennis through high school, and this summer he will be a cabin counselor and will again head up our Tennis program and help out with Fishing and Waterskiing.  Ben will be 19 years old this summer.

ARTURO THALUICE

This will be Arturo’s 2nd summer at camp, and he will be 24 years old. He is from Puebla, Mexico.  He is obtaining his degree in Industrial Enginnering from the Instituto Tecnologico de Puebla. Arturo worked at camp in 2016 as part of our Kitchen staff, and this summer he will return and be part of our Maintenance Staff.

ALEXA VELAZQUEZ

Alexa is 24 years old and will join us for her 2nd summer from Xalapa, Veracruz in Mexico.  She will be finishing up her degree in International Business Management in her senior year at Universidad Veracruzana. She will again be part of our Kitchen Staff.

Say hello to the following first-year folks who will join us this summer:

MADDIE CLARK

Maddie joins us from Seaview Downs in Australia.  She will turn 21 years old this summer.  She is studying Health Sciences at the University of South Australia.  She is the eldest of 5 children, and Maddie is all about sports.  She coaches a girls Netball team (similar to basketball), and she played volleyball throughout her childhood and school career.  This summer Maddie will head up our Volleyball program and help with Soccer, Disc Sports, and Mountain Biking.  Something we didn’t know about Maddie: “I have a permanently broken thumb!”

 GIZELLE DELGADILLO

Gizelle will turn 21 this summer.  She is from Xalapa in Veracruz, Mexico.  She is studying English at the University of Veracruz.  Gizelle loves cooking with her young nieces and nephews, as well as going cycling and to the movies with them.  She has also worked at a restaurant waiting tables and helping in the kitchen.  This summer Gizelle will be part of our Kitchen Staff.  Something we didn’t know about Gizelle: “I would like to become a teacher, I want to teach spanish as a foreing language specifically to children. I also would like to travel around the world and meet new people and their cultures and probably write a book about it.”

COMING SOON:

In our next post, we’ll share some updates about the lives of some of our campers and staff members.  Stay tuned for that.
